I am a cancer survivor (think Lance Armstrong, testicular cancer). One day in the shower in 2001 while I was examining my surgical wound, I experienced a brief moment of transcendent clarity that changed the entire course of my life. It suddenly and powerfully dawned on me that Being/Spirit/God/Source is so much more Mysterious (incomprehensible) than I had ever imagined. It was the greatest gift. The ability to let go of answers and admit "I don't know" literally set me free. It made me feel more connected to the human race. No more Us vs. Them or philosophizing about who is right or who is "In" vs. "Out".

Faith is all about Hope. It's not about belief (doctrine or dogma). Hope is at the heart of spirituality (with or without religion), as we bravely live into the existential and genuinely Hope that Love is real. I like how the author (unknown) of Hebrews 11:1 puts it (the most accurate Greek translation): "In faith things hoped for become reality."
